Information You Submit
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. DeKalb County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own system.
An email or contact message may contain a name, return address, and any details the sender includes. We retain it as needed to respond. We do not share the message outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Technical Visit Data
Routine web records may be created when a browser loads a page. They can include:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring page, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookies help show how visitors use the site. A browser can block or delete them, although some features may then work differently.
How Data Supports Operations
Collected data is used to keep pages available, route a submitted search to the selected provider, understand which information is useful, diagnose technical faults, and present advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.
Government and Outside Links
Links lead to regional-jail records, the DeKalb County Sheriff, MODOC, courts, federal locators, and independent search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy rules control. Some advertising companies may measure activity across multiple sites on their own systems.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be handled by the search provider receiving a query, analytics vendors that measure site use, advertising networks, and law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No site connected to the internet is breach-proof, so absolute security cannot be promised.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, a person may ask for a copy of personal information we hold, request correction, seek deletion, or opt out of certain processing. A request must contain enough information to identify the relevant record and verify the requester.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may change as services and practices change. A revised version takes effect when posted here with a new effective date.
